Requirements
This is an unassembled kit. Unless you select to have it
pre-assembled, you will need to assemble it yourself. Shuttle kits are
designed to be easy to assemble. It does come with
full color step-by-step graphical instructions, but
having prior experience can be a plus.

Although
the unit is priced with Economical components, you can select
higher performance, name brand, components if you wish.
You may also select not to purchase with components at a further
discounted price. In this instance you would need to obtain required
components yourself.
Operating System Compatibility
Linux:
This unit and available options should work with any
up to date Linux Operating System, or any up to date Linux Distribution
released in or after October 2007. See the Linux Category for a
list of Linux operating systems distributed by On-Disk.com. Those more
familiar with windows may wish to view Alternatives to Microsoft Windows.
Currently all Linux Operating
Systems run well with 512MB Memory. As
always, more RAM = better performance. For general desktop usage 512MB
is fine. If you want to watch and edit videos, create multimedia
content, do a lot of graphic editing, or are one of those who like to
leave several applications open at the same time, you will probably
want more RAM.
Microsoft Windows:
This unit will work with the following versions of Microsoft Windows.
Please note, you will need at least 1GB Memory (RAM) to run Microsoft
Windows Vista. When ordering please make sure to order the RAM you need.
If you order a pre-assembled unit with a windows operating system you
must
order an optical drive so the assembler can install the operating
system
for you. You WILL receive the installation disc with your new computer.
