The Complete Linux Mint 7 Software Repository , as of November 23, 2009 is available on either 8 standard DVDs. This software is for use with all 32 bit versions of Linux Mint 7. What this means is the thousands of software applications available for Linux Mint can be installed directly from the DVDs using the same Add/Remove Applications (Synaptic Package Manager) that you normally use, which is perfect for any Linux Mint user with a slower internet connection, or no connection to the Internet at all...or anyone who wants to be able to retain the ability to install additional software even after this version is no longer sported.

Notes:

• Currently only the standard 32 bit Linux Mint Repositories are available..
• The 32 bit (x86) version listed here will work on both 32 and 64 bit PCs where the 32 bit (x86) version of Linux Mint 7 (or a derivative) is installed.
• Includes everything from Gloria main, upstream, and import, as well as Ubuntu Jaunty, Jaunty-Security, Jaunty-Updates, and Jaunty-Backports for Main, Restricted, Universe, and Multiverse sections.

Usage:

1. Open "Synaptic Package Manager" directly, not the "Add/Remove..." menu item. Normally Synaptic is found under "System" in the main menu. If for some reason Synaptic is not installed, you will need to install it first or use the terminal method as described in the notes below.
2. Click the "Edit" menu item at the top then on "Add CD-ROM..."
3. Select the option to add another disc until they have all been added. You will be prompted for the correct disc when they are required during software installation.
   
   Notes: (1) In some instances you may need to symlink /cdrom to the correct device. This usually happens if you have an odd hardware/drive configuration or if you have removed additional hard drives from your installed system. (2) Instead of the procedure above you can open a terminal and use the command # sudo apt-cdrom add
